arK::Kra

or, the idea of an living home archive for sound art (LHASA)

Apart from inviting people to work at KRA, and organizing an annual Summer of the Kra Festival, there is a need for a basic infrastructure that let people document their ideas and plans, research and realisations. We are experimenting with small computer boards as a home server [arK::Kra], and how to connect them to other places [let’s say arK::n, arK::m, …], creating a shared hybrid environment, documenting new sound art as it is being created in the countryside. So now the questions arise: how should it look like, and what technology is needed to reinvent a kind of connected home server mesh network, with our partners in France, Germany, Belgium, Marocco, … We can provide some first-hand information on concepts and ideas from artists, some streams of the works, and documentation as things are being developed further, even if it is elsewhere.
